Monkey Palace is a competitive building board game for two to four players in which players use LEGO bricks to construct a shared three-dimensional palace, create climbing paths, score points, and earn resources or rewards based on their building choices; its strengths are the engaging LEGO construction, attractive table presence, strategic route planning, and accessibility for families and newer gamers, while its weaknesses are that setup and cleanup can be time-consuming, the shared building space may cause confusion or accidental disruption, scoring and rules may feel somewhat fiddly, and experienced players may find the strategy less deep than in heavier board games.
