Mindbug is not a normal creature card with a play cost; it represents one of the two special “Mindbug” uses each player has per game. When your opponent plays a creature, you can spend a Mindbug to take control of that creature, although they may spend one of their own Mindbugs to take it back. Its biggest strength is the threat it creates: powerful creatures are risky to play because the opponent might immediately steal them, enabling clever bluffing and timing decisions. Its downside is that each player only has two, so using one too early or on a weak creature can leave you unable to answer a later game-winning threat.
