Maestro Media has opened up its publishing, licensing, production, manufacturing, crowdfunding and retail operations to outside designers and publishers. The new operation is called Overture by Maestro Media and may co-publish games, contribute to their development or production, and in some cases acquire titles.

The initiative is also aimed at companies looking for a publishing partner in North America. According to founder and CEO Javon Frazier, the obstacle for many games is not the ideas themselves, but the path from design and funding to distribution and getting onto store shelves.

“The hardest part of this industry has never been the ideas. It’s everything that comes after them.”

- Javon Frazier

Overture will allow other companies to tap into Maestro Media’s existing operations for stages including development, licensing, production, manufacturing, direct-to-consumer sales and retail distribution. The company says it has already signed deals under this model.

One of those deals involves publishing a new North American edition of Ghost Blitz by Zoch Verlag, scheduled for January 2027. Maestro Media is also working with Nighthawk Interactive on Half Truth: Second Guess, a trivia game by Richard Garfield and Ken Jennings.

For Brazilian audiences, the operation includes a partnership with D20 Culture. The companies will co-publish The Lord of the Rings: Foes of Middle-Earth and the Justice League Unlimited RPG worldwide and in multiple languages.

“Great games should not be limited by borders.”

- Peterson Rodrigues

Designers will have their first opportunity to submit original tabletop games to Overture during a submission window running from January 1 to 30 next year. Maestro Media has also promoted Ryan Lumax to vice president and head of games.
