About Back for More

Back for More, Instant, designed by Daarken first released in Apr, 2020 in the set Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths and was printed exactly in 3 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of A$ 0.12.

A deck focused on graveyard recursion and creature removal would benefit from including Back for More in its strategy, especially in a Golgari (Black-Green) midrange or control deck. While Back for More offers a unique combination of creature revival and removal, it competes with other powerful options like Grave Titan or Eternal Witness for similar effects, which may be more versatile or efficient in certain situations. However, the flexibility of being able to revive a creature and immediately have it fight an opponent's creature could make Back for More a viable inclusion in decks looking to control the board and generate value from the graveyard.

Rules

04/17/20

As you cast Back for More, it targets only a creature card in your graveyard. While the spell is resolving, you return the target card to the battlefield. When you do, the reflexive triggered ability triggers and you pick a target to fight. This is different from effects that say “If you do . . .” in that you can return a creature card to the battlefield without a legal target to fight.

04/17/20

If the target creature is an illegal target when the reflexive triggered ability tries to resolve, the ability doesn’t resolve. If the creature you put onto the battlefield is no longer on the battlefield or no longer a creature, the target creature won’t deal or be dealt damage.
