This card could be beneficial in a mono-black control deck that focuses on disrupting the opponent's strategy while maintaining board presence. However, the high mana cost and the significant life loss upon entering the battlefield may make it less appealing compared to other options like \\Grave Titan\\ which provides more value for its cost with token generation and a larger body. Dread Reaper may not see much play in competitive decks due to its drawbacks, but could still be a fun and thematic inclusion in casual or themed decks.
