This card, Befuddle, would be beneficial in a control or tempo deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it can help weaken an opponent's creature while replacing itself by drawing a card. However, there are more efficient options available, such as Unsummon, which can remove a creature from the battlefield entirely. Befuddle could see play in limited formats or casual decks, but in competitive settings, other cards may be more effective.

If the target creature is an illegal target by the time Befuddle tries to resolve, the spell doesn’t resolve. You won’t draw a card.
