Informed Inkwright fits best in a white‑based spells-matter or heroic-style deck that plays lots of cheap targeted instants and sorceries—combat tricks, protection spells (like **Gods Willing**), pump spells, or efficient interaction that targets creatures—letting you generate steady value through 1/1 flying Inkling tokens while advancing your board; it would work especially well in Azorius (WU) or Orzhov (WB) shells that can protect creatures and leverage evasive token swarms. However, at three mana (1W plus likely an extra generic), it competes with stronger token engines and payoff creatures such as **Monastery Mentor** (which makes prowess tokens off any noncreature spell and is significantly more explosive), **Third Path Iconoclast**, or even **Clarion Spirit** in go-wide builds, all of which trigger more easily and often without requiring you to target a creature.
