A graveyard-focused deck, such as a Golgari or Sultai graveyard strategy, would benefit from using Lhurgoyf as it can quickly become a powerful threat based on the number of creature cards in all graveyards. However, there are potentially better options like Tarmogoyf, which can also grow in power but is easier to cast with a single green mana cost. Lhurgoyf could see play in more casual or budget decks, but competitive decks may opt for more efficient threats.
