About Pillar of Flame

Pillar of Flame, Sorcery, designed by Dave Kendall first released in May, 2020 in the set Magic Online Promos and was printed exactly in 6 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of NZ$ 0.07.

A red aggro or burn deck would benefit from including Pillar of Flame, as it provides efficient removal for small creatures while also potentially exiling them. However, there are better options like Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning that offer more flexibility and can target players as well, making them more versatile choices. Pillar of Flame could still see play in specific metagames where exiling creatures is crucial, but overall, it may not be a top choice for most decks.

A creature dealt damage by Pillar of Flame that dies this turn will be exiled even if it wasn’t the target of Pillar of Flame (because the damage was redirected somehow). If the target creature isn’t dealt damage (most likely because the damage was prevented), it won’t be exiled if it dies that turn.
