A deck focused on casting a high number of instant and sorcery spells would greatly benefit from including Djinn Illuminatus, as it provides a powerful replication effect that can generate significant value and board presence. While Djinn Illuminatus can be a strong inclusion in decks that revolve around spellslinging strategies, there are potentially better options available such as Thousand-Year Storm, which offers a similar effect but with a more impactful payoff. However, Djinn Illuminatus can still see play in certain spell-heavy decks looking to capitalize on its replicate ability for explosive turns and overwhelming board presence.

If you cast a spell that already has replicate while you have this creature on the battlefield, the spell will have two replicate abilities: one with a replicate cost as printed on it, and one with a replicate cost equal to its mana cost. (In this set, both costs are always the same.) You may use either ability, or both abilities, to replicate the spell.
