Asmodee acquires Welcome To... and eyes expansion of the line

Asmodee has acquired the intellectual property and game line for Welcome To... from French publisher Blue Cocker. The deal gives the company control of one of the series that helped popularize the flip-and-write format in modern board games.

The series began with Welcome To Your Perfect Home, designed by Benoit Turpin and released in 2018. Since then, it has sold hundreds of thousands of copies and spawned standalone follow-ups such as Welcome to the Moon and Welcome to New Las Vegas.

Welcome To... also has a strong digital presence: its version on Board Game Arena has recorded more than 3 million games and averages more than 3,000 unique players per day.

Asmodee sees room to expand the Welcome To... universe in the coming months. Mathieu Aubert, the company’s head of collections, said the team already has several ideas for developing the brand and that new projects will be announced in the future.

The acquisition fits into Asmodee’s renewed acquisition strategy. In November 2024, the company said it planned to resume its search for smaller publishers and distributors, with more than 20 acquisition opportunities under review at the time.

In 2025, the company acquired the rights to Zombicide and Cthulhu: Death May Die from CMON. This year, it also acquired ATM Gaming, Sheriff of Nottingham, Japon Brand, Time’s Up and the remaining stake it did not already own in Exploding Kittens.

The companies’ existing business relationship also brings them closer: Asmodee already distributed Blue Cocker games in markets including the United Kingdom and the United States. In France, Welcome To... and other titles from the publisher are distributed by BlackRock, a subsidiary of Hachette.

Founded in 2013 by Alain Balay, Blue Cocker grew following the international success of Welcome To.... Asmodee will now oversee the future of the line and its upcoming announcements.
