Take Time has already surpassed 325,000 copies printed by Asmodee, less than a year after its release. The result exceeds the publisher’s expectations, as it had prepared a worldwide print run of 145,000 units for the debut of the cooperative puzzle game created by Alexi Piovesan and Julien Prothière.

The first print run was set after a positive reception from distribution teams, specialist media and players who took part in pre-release testing. Auguste Lecoeur, who oversees the game line, said Take Time became an internal priority as soon as the prototype was presented and approved, receiving resources and staff reassigned from other projects.

Since then, every major reprint has exceeded 60,000 copies. Asmodee plans to produce another two or three worldwide print runs of the same scale each year to keep up with demand.

“It’s clear that Take Time won’t be a one-off success,” Lecoeur said. According to him, the game continues to maintain a strong sales pace across different markets instead of disappearing after its initial print run.

Exposure at events such as the Cannes FIJ and Spiel Essen helped expand the title’s reach, while online sales also performed above the usual level. The game was nominated for multiple awards, received positive reviews from the community and ranks among the 95 highest-rated family games on BoardGameGeek.

Asmodee also cited the game’s balanced distribution across specialist stores, mass retail and e-commerce. Lecoeur said the community’s early support was decisive in opening up space in other sales channels.

Its compact size, affordable price, amount of content and replayability also helped expand its audience. The publisher also highlighted a cardboard demo kit, with detachable cards and clocks, created to showcase the game’s mechanics at distribution locations.
