About Illusions of Grandeur

Illusions of Grandeur, Enchantment, designed by Quinton Hoover first released in Jun, 1995 in the set Ice Age and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of $ 21.99. It's a key card in 3 combos.

Illusions of Grandeur can be a powerful addition to a control deck that aims to gain life and stall the game, benefiting from the initial 20 life gain and potentially using the cumulative upkeep cost to their advantage. However, in competitive play, there are more efficient life gain cards such as Sphinx's Revelation or Baneslayer Angel that provide immediate value without the drawback of losing life when the enchantment leaves the battlefield, making them better choices overall. Illusions of Grandeur could see play in more casual or themed decks looking for a unique and nostalgic card to include.

Rules

10/04/04

If a player takes control of this card away from you, you do not lose 20 life because the loss of 20 life is a separate ability. That player is now subject to the loss.
