This card would be beneficial in a black-based aggro deck looking to apply pressure early in the game. The ability to pay 2 life for flying can be a powerful way to get in damage and potentially close out the game quickly. However, there are better options available in Magic: the Gathering for similar effects, such as Vampire Nighthawk or Gifted Aetherborn, which offer more utility and resilience. Arrogant Poet could see play in more budget or thematic decks, but competitive decks may opt for more efficient and versatile options.
