This card, Assassin's Strike, would be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on removal and disrupting the opponent's hand. While it offers a decent removal option with the added benefit of making the opponent discard a card, there are more efficient removal spells available in formats like Magic: the Gathering. Cards like Hero's Downfall or Murderous Rider provide similar removal effects at a lower cost, making them more versatile and efficient choices for competitive play. However, if the deck is looking for additional discard synergy or specific card advantage, Assassin's Strike could still see play in a more casual or themed deck.
